Recently, 3D Systems – a US-based company focused on printing technologies – reported that the Food and Drug Administration provided clearance for its product – a novel solution for producing high-quality multi-material monolithic dentures.
The approved system includes two types of unique dental materials with the required technology, software, and services for denture creation.
What's new?
3D System pioneered an approach that involves "composite printing" – it uses two substances with specific physical proportions:
- NextDent Jet Denture Teeth mimics natural teeth rigidity and aesthetics.
- NextDent Jet Denture Base is placed on gums and absorbs additional impact, increasing durability.
According to Neil McCaffrey, 3D Systems vice president, existing methods of monolithic denture printing use only one material with a single option—choose the color. Instead, the invented approach makes it possible to, in some sense, "emulate" biological logic—different materials for different functional parts.
What does the company offer?
This complex solution also includes equipping your business facility with hardware, software, and educational components, which allows you to produce natural-looking and wear-resistant dentures. The system can make one copy in a single click, reducing the required number of patient visits and working hours for dentists.
Additionally, this printing solution may be tuned to work with partial dentistry, providing the same high-quality and accurate results.
