Compact dental scanner
Clark Dental – a British company specializing in dental equipment – released a new Hyperion X9 scanner system. This tool can provide you with:
- 2D images that will increase the accuracy of panoramic and cephalometric examinations.
- 3D models for any possible clinical purposes – from diagnostic to precise restorative treatments.
Besides its medical feasibility, Hyperion X9 has another crucial advantage – compactness. Its scalable and modular design makes the scanner suitable for small-size facilities – you can manipulate scanner parts and add or remove new parts depending on your needs.
New solution for dentures
DGSAPE company – a subsidiary of Roland DG Corporation – recently presented DWX-53D, a new desktop dry dental milling technology that makes denture production faster, smoother, and more accurate.
This generation of devices is equipped with camera that allow dentists to monitor and record the milling process for maintenance oversight. Additionally, the tool has a VPanel – special cloud-based software with a user-friendly interface and communication channel with DGSHAPE Company.
Also, DWX has various improvements in milling capabilities. The tool has a built-in automated cleaning process that removes parts of zirconia, PMMA, or other materials during denture production. Additionally, the device is equipped with a new adapter, increasing its rotation angle to make the final product more anatomically precise and increase the tool's versatility.
The next step to augmented dentistry
Diagnostic AI is probably the most complex and fascinating type of modern digital tool. Such software can analyze the different types of medical radiographs, scans, and other images to find and highlight health issues. Currently, such technology is used in tandem with "organic" doctors, helping them make the diagnosis more precise and significantly cutting the time spent on each patient.
Carestream Dental – a US-based company focusing on dental software – recently presented a novel AI tool for that purpose. Their cloud-based systems can analyze the radiographs and display the whole specter of clinical results, colorizing the presence of caries, implants, and other pathological and non-pathological conditions of a patient's oral cavity.
Visual colorization is an easy-to-understand way to explain to patients their health issues and what the dentist will treat. This patient education element is quite helpful in reducing patient stress and improving procedure outcomes.
