Dental software of any type requires a platform that guarantees seamless data flow, acceptable integration with other third-party tools, and interoperability between applications. For that purpose, Planet DDS, a US-based cloud software provider, presented the first dental operating system.

For the last two decades, the company has partnered with different dental support organizations, gained a deep understanding of their main problems and challenges, and learned about their software requirements.

According to the company's press release on Dentistry Today, their product DentalOS provides three crucial advantages:

  • The platform is scalable and may be easily integrated with different digital tools.
  • OS is customizable due to its open API, so facilities' developers can implement new technological solutions or change existing ones.
  • The system is quite flexible and can integrate even the newest technological tools, including AI systems.
  • The company's advanced data security system achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification.

DentalOS is compatible with software of any kind, including imaging, billing, scheduling, managing, and other types of helpful technologies that can make your workflow smoother and improve the clinic's profitability.

First reviews

The company claims that "DentalOS™ will do for the dental industry what Apple did for smartphones with iOS."

It rings true because the OS was released about a week ago, and many representatives of dental technology providers have already shared enthusiastic comments about its perspective.

For instance, Rob Ganjifard – vice president of technology at Onsite Dental – said, "DentalOS will provide live access to all data, allowing for actionable intel and better decision-making. This shift will move the dental industry from relying on outdated systems to embracing advanced, integrated technologies."

Ophir Tanz – CEO and Founder of Pearl (this company recently presented its first FDA-approved diagnostic software) – highlighted the DentalOS integration capabilities with AI: "With DentalOS, Planet DDS enabled us quickly and efficiently to deliver an innovative cross-application radiologic AI integration. Together, we've been able to offer a more streamlined AI-enabled workflow that not only elevates customer experiences but also increases their productivity and AI utilization."
